Reporting to the VP, Sales, the Business Development Manager - International Sales - TV Markets will have the responsibility of expanding Stingray Digital’s international sales. The Business Development Manager will identify, qualify and pursue customer opportunities in our targeted markets, primarily the United States and Europe, for our different TV brands & services (currently consisting of the Galaxie Music Service and The KARAOKE Channel). The BDM will also be responsible for managing, supporting, and developing our third-party sales network, where appropriate. Through his role, the BDM will have a unique opportunity to shape Stingray Digital’s international sales strategy. The BDM is joining a fast growing team, with a constantly expanding product line-up.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Research customer targets and identify key decision-makers, customer needs, and competing alternatives;
- Identify, qualify and aggressively pursue customer opportunities in our target markets;
- Keep abreast of market developments in our targeted markets and understand & share within Stingray Digital the key customers requirements for our products;
- Work with Marketing and Technical Sales to develop the best pitch (presentations, marketing material, demos, etc.) to prospective customers;
- Prepare product presentations and business proposals to prospective customers;
- Support and develop our third-party sales network;
- Initiate and manage the deal process, in tandem with Stingray’s legal, technical, and sales team.
Required Profile
- 8-10 years of experience in B2B sales and international business development for TV content services catering to TV distributors such as cable, telcos and direct-to-home operators;
- Strong track record in building sales in the context of market entry;
- Great door opener, astute in how to best approach a prospective customer and finding the right decision-maker to talk to;
- Excellent knowledge of the TV broadcasting and distribution industry, preferably in the United States, and to a lesser extent, Europe;
- Easily establish connections in a multicultural setting; sensitive to cultural differences and business customs;
- Working knowledge of licensing and service contracts, particularly as it relates to TV and/or music content;
- Excellent communication skills, fully bilingual in English and French (third language, ideally European, an asset);
- Organised, driven, and self-motivated by the desire to “close the deal”;
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, informal work environment.
